Shagoo was developed out of a necessity to solve a recurring problem in consumer shipping: the reliance on chemical adhesives and plastic tape. The project focused entirely on structural engineering, utilizing folding patterns that rely on tension-based locking mechanisms. This required a lengthy prototyping phase where I used a variety of paper weights to determine which materials could hold the mechanical load of the product without tearing or deforming during the shipping process.

The aesthetic of the project grew directly out of the manufacturing constraints. Because I couldn't use traditional seals, the geometry of the box itself became the primary visual element. I mapped the stress points of the packaging to the graphic design, placing key brand information on the areas of the structure that are naturally reinforced by the folds. The final system is entirely modular and can be shipped flat, which significantly reduced the client’s carbon footprint and overhead costs for both storage and transport.
